Higher Education – West Kent

If you or a family member is considering embarking on part- or full-time education, the central London colleges are within practical commuting distance from Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, while Maidstone is within easy striking distance of The University of Kent and The University of Canterbury Christ Church, both based at Canterbury. The University of Kent has close links with Mid-Kent College in Maidstone and West Kent College in Tonbridge.

The University College for the Creative Arts has over 3,000 students on campuses in Maidstone, Canterbury and others in Kent and Surrey. It has schools of architecture, design, fashion, fine art, photography and media arts & communication design. Courses are available for full- and part-time study, plus it offers a range of summer courses.

Further Education

Mid Kent College of Higher and Further Education can provide tailor-made training courses covering most areas of business and industry. It has three colleges, Horsted College in Chatham, City Way in Rochester and Oakwood in Maidstone.

West Kent College is based in Tonbridge and provides a variety of full time and part time courses, from degree level to assorted vocational qualifications. Among the subjects available here are design, hairdressing & beauty, business studies, construction, tourism, the performing arts and teaching.
